Throughout the consultation process, confidentiality is maintained for all clients. This procedure is a standard practice, in line with statutory requirements, regardless of age or background.

Limits on Confidentiality

However there are certain situations in which disclosures made to me cannot be kept strictly private, either ethically or legally. These include the following:

1. Where serious and immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else is imminent.

2. If you indicate that you are involved in any form of abuse regarding a minor child, someone who is a disabled person, or an elderly adult.

3. If I am ordered by the court system to release information.

Please be assured that your right to confidentiality is very important to me. In the unlikely event that confidentiality is breached, I will use care and discretion while meeting legal and ethical obligations
