I ask the question only because I believe this to be true. Many of us, myself included, have allowed the actions of others to affect how we see ourselves at one time or another.
In fact, for years I allowed your opinion to determine how I saw myself.
I had the notion if you were nice to me, I was good enough and if you weren’t, I wasn’t.
Utter rubbish of course but I didn’t know any better at the time. And in all honesty, I can still go there on a bad hair day.
Just knowing this stuff doesn’t make us immune to it. Some days it requires a lot of conscious effort to not go there!
I learned an important lesson
Relying on the opinion of others to determine how to think about oneself is a sad way to live, not to mention dishonest!
An emotional yo-yo, self esteem goes up and down depending on the perspective of others.
It didn’t occur to me it was just your opinion, your world view. Nothing to do with who I am at all!
Needless to say, this had to change. But where to begin?
Change begins step by step
It takes what it takes and eventually you hit a wall and change begins.
The first step is to see how life isn’t working for you this way.
Depression, sadness and anxiety arise trying to be someone you’re not. Trying to please them!
And self help books, counselling, and various other practices only get you so far.
Tune into your higher wisdom
I had come to rely on the approval of others for something I could only give to myself.
I realised this as I started to turn within, seeking help from a higher source, a greater wisdom than mine.
Tuned into your true self, things start happening.
What you need, when you need it, starts showing up.
People who live this way know a higher wisdom is available, and use it because it works!
The trick is to stay focused on what’s happening in your inner world, not caught up in the outer illusions the Ego or false self will create.
Priceless freedom awaits
As you learn to live from your true self, as you shed the masks you’ve unconsciously worn, you discover a freedom like no other!
It manifests as a deep knowing which comes from beyond the mind. It’s an experience of the very essence of who You are.
The cost is your willingness to go within; to practice self honesty and love; and to allow the old layers of yourself to keep falling away.
As you do, your experience of life changes. You’re now walking in tune with the will of the Universe and your Spirit.
But don’t just take my word for it.
This way of life is available to you, right now!
All you need is to be willing . . .
